July 12, 2018 - Today we'll have sunny skies and hot weather with a high of 93°. Given high humidity, it'll feel like it's between 100° and 105° for much of the afternoon. For that reason, we have a Heat Advisory in effect until 8 PM this evening. Please stay hydrated and do your best to stay cool. Don't leave children or pets inside of vehicles as those can heat up in a hurry.
Showers and thunderstorms will arrive in Siouxland late tonight. Some may be severe with large hail and damaging wind gusts, so make sure to have your NOAA Weather Radio on for that threat of strong storms and stay tuned for updates. The low temperature will be 71°.
Tomorrow we'll have rounds of showers and thunderstorms continue. Rainfall amounts could be heavy creating river flooding concerns. Plus a Flash Flood Watch is out for northern communities in Siouxland through Saturday morning given that some of these storms may have rapid rainfall rates. Tomorrow will be cooler with a high of 82°.
Some spotty showers and storms will extend into the weekend with highs holding in the mid 80s. We'll finally be able to trim back the heat & humidity further next Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday. It'll be sunny with highs just over 80°...very nice.
Stay cool out there again today!
