One person was injured in a vehicle accident near Merrill, Iowa.
The Plymouth County Sheriff’s Office responded to a call Sunday of a vehicle going into a ditch on Highway 75 north of Merrill.
When deputies arrived, they saw a semi and trailer lying in a ditch on the driver’s side just north of Kestrel Avenue.
They said that the driver, Thomas Van Horsen, of Sheldon, may have had a medical issue before the crash. He was taken to Mercy Medical with non life-threatening injuries.
The semi and trailer are said to have taken substantial damage.
They are continuing to investigate the incident.
Le Mars Fire Rescue, Le Mars Ambulance, Merrill Ambulance, Iowa State Patrol, an Iowa Department of Transportation officer and the Iowa Department of Transportation Highway Department assisted with the crash.
