A man has died after a train crashed into an agricultural sprayer east of Storm Lake. 

Sheriff Kory Elston of Buena Vista County Sheriff’s Office says that they received a report of a accident between a train and an agricultural sprayer Wednesday morning at 9:13.

The accident occurred at the intersection of 170th Avenue and 620th Street, about three miles west of Newell, Iowa.

They say that the driver of the agricultural sprayer, Kyle Drey, 33, of Storm Lake had been ejected from the sprayer. He was pronounced deceased at the scene.

They say that preliminary investigation shows that the train was was going east.  The sprayer was going east and had turned north to cross the tracks when the train collided with the sprayer. The sprayer rolled into the ditch. 

The train was operated by CN Railroad from Fort Dodge.

They are continuing to investigate the incident.
