SIOUX CITY, Iowa (KCAU) – Officials responded to a fire on West 6th Street in Sioux City on Monday morning.

When crews arrived, they witnessed heavy smoke coming from the attic.

Crews evacuated several residents from the home before putting out the fire. There were no injuries reported.

Along with the fire, crews were also battling the cold temperatures.

“It’s been going on for 2-3 weeks for us now, we’ve been extremely busy, it’s extremely hard on apparatus, equipment, personnel but I can’t say enough about our personnel, and we’re pulling through it,” said Dan Cougill, of Sioux City Fire Rescue.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
