A Norfolk murder suspect made a court appearance late Tuesday afternoon.
Rodolfo Castaneda Morejon waived his right to a preliminary hearing.
His case will now be bound over for trial in Madison County District Court.
Morejon is charged with first-degree murder for the stabbing death of a man he thought was having an affair with his girlfriend.
If convicted, he could face life in prison or the death penalty.
The Madison County Attorney says he hasn’t yet decided if this is a capital case.
“Right now, we don’t even have the police reports,” said Madison County Attorney Joseph Smith, “when I get police reports I’ll look at everything, and, if I can in good faith ask for a death penalty, I will, but if I don’t think it’s the right thing to do, I won’t do it. “
Morejon will be back in court September 14 for his arraignment.
