A man who allegedly followed two girls into the library and was rubbing his groin was arrested for methamphetamine, according to a Norfolk Police report.
Norfolk Police officers were called to the Norfolk Public Library, Wednesday, at about 5:30 p.m. for a male who was refusing to leave.
When officers arrived, they recognized the man as Chad E. Sholes, 26, of Norfolk.
Library staff told officers that Sholes had followed two teenage girls into the library and was allegedly rubbing his groin area. They also reported that he was refusing to leave.
An officer asked Sholes to step outside of the building, and he complied.
Once out of the building the officer could smell alcohol coming from Sholes. The officer noticed he was digging in his pockets and asked if he had anything that the officer should be concerned about.
Sholes replied that he did not and began to empty his pockets onto the ground.
One of the items from his pocket was a zip-lock bag that contained a crystal-like substance. This substance tested positive for methamphetamine.
Sholes was then arrested for possession of a controlled substance, methamphetamine. He was housed in the Norfolk City Jail and later transferred to the Madison County Jail
