In Nebraska, residents in Norfolk were allowed back into their homes after being evacuated to a shelter overnight. Governor Pete Ricketts took a tour of the damaged areas Friday.
“One of the things we want to stress to anybody is we still have a flooding situation here. Where we have water over the roads, it’s still dangerous to cross these roads. If you see water on the roads dont cross them. If you see water on the roads, dont travel,” Ricketts said.
According to city officials, water levels upstream have normalized. Levees near the river are still holding steady, so as of this time they believe the worst is over.
Emergency responders sucessfully resuced 32 people from homes and cars, but one person is still missing at this time.
