Nebraska bills would make it easier to prosecute human trafficking cases

(KCAU) – Nebraska lawmakers are considering a new bill package that would make it easier for the state to prosecute human traffickers.

Lawmakers have been working for years to clamp down on human trafficking in Nebraska.

The package includes a bill that would eliminate or increase the statute of limitation for sex and human trafficking cases.

Another would allow prosecutors to seek a judge’s permission to monitor the communications of human traffickers. The package also includes state services for victims of human trafficking.
