SIOUX CITY, Iowa (KCAU) – The Sioux City Municipal Band is celebrating a major milestone with an exhibit at the public museum.
On display is 100 years of the band’s history, from previous band uniforms and instruments to photographs.
The Sioux City Historical Society is also helping put on the exhibit that shows what an important role the band has played over many years in Sioux City.
“They were the great entertainment of the day, not everyone came out but thousands came to the park to watch these, it was really the entertainment of the day,” says archives manager Tom Munson.
The municipal band exhibit runs through June 28 at the Sioux City Public Museum. This year’s band opens the summer concert series June 2 and Grandview Park.
