SIOUX CITY, Iowa (KCAU) – With Mother’s Day being this Sunday, May 12, there are plenty of ways to celebrate.
Here are a few events mothers and their families can take part in:
A Mother’s Day concert will take place at the Betty Strong Encounter Center Sunday at 2 p.m. Performers Jack Langley, Mike Langley, and Walter Peterrson will perform songs, including: “M-O-T-H-E-R,” “Mamas Don’t Let Your Babies Grow Up to Be Cowboys,” “Mama Tried,” “Let It Be.” Admission to the event is free and a reception will follow.
Also on Sunday, MakerSpace Sioux City is hosting a DIY for Flip-Flop Welcome Signs. The event cost $20 and will show how to make a one-of-a-kind welcom sign. It is happening Sunday from 2 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Minervas on Hamilton Boulevard is hosting a Mother’s Day Sunday Brunch from 9 a.m to 2 p.m. Adults will cost $23 and kids 4-12 will cost $10. They recommend making reservations by calling 712-277-0800.
Valiant Vineyard in Vermillion is also holding a brunch. Their Mother’s Day Bloody Mary Brunch it happening 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at 1500 W. Main St.
At the Hard Rock Sioux City, mother’s can take part in another brunch. going fro 9 a.m to 3 p.m., You can go to the World Tour Buffet for a selection of food at $19,99 per person.
A local woman is helping expectant mothers relax and keep healthy with prenatal yoga. It is happening Sunday at 9 a.m. at No Place Like Om at 1805 S. Patterson St. in Sioux City. Space is limited to 8 expecting mothers. A doula informational will take place at 10:15.
Torrid in the Southern Hills Mall is having an early morning sale. Sunday from 8 to 11 a.m., the entire store will be 40 percent off for their Mother’s Day sale.
Also at the Southern Hills Mall, the Midwest Rides Carnival will till be happening. From 12 to 9 p.m. there will be rides, food and games in the parking lot noth of Sears. Pay $20 for an unlimited rides wristband or for 18 tickets.
