Morning Forecast - SD & NE: Aug 15, 2018

Pockets of fog have formed in Nebraska and South Dakota. A DENSE FOG ADVISORY is out for Holt county until 9 AM with visibility limited to under 1 mile. Beyond the fog which should be shredding apart later in the morning, we’ll have partly cloudy conditions and nice weather for the afternoon. Look for seasonal highs between 80 and 85 degrees in eastern Nebraska and southeast South Dakota.

Tonight we’ll have partly cloudy conditions with lows between 60 and 65 degrees. Thunderstorms will enter western communities in Siouxland along Highway 81 in Nebraska and South Dakota. There is a Marginal Risk of severe weather near Yankton and O’Neill, so stay alert beginning this evening for the possibility of a couple strong storms with large hail & damaging wind gusts.

Look for scattered showers and thunderstorms to persist throughout the day tomorrow. With the wet conditions and cloudy skies the high will be suppressed into the mid and upper 70s.

Friday and Saturday will be great with highs staying in the mid 80s. There’s a possibility of rain and thunderstorms making a comeback on Sunday and Monday.
