More rain this weekend, but we begin to dry out next week

Rainy weekend, but a warmup and dry conditions expected

JUNE 23, 2018 - With more rain in the forecast, the flood situation is not looking ideal for parts around Siouxland this afternoon.

Today a good portion of Siouxland will stay dry but there is still a chance to see some showers and thunderstorms, and some of those could stick around into the overnight hours.

Tomorrow temperatures stay on the cooler side in the upper 70's and low 80's.  Although temperatures will be nice, we are expecting afternoon showers and thunderstorms to pop up.  There is a slight chance to see some severe weather for the southwest portion of the viewing area, while the rest of us have a marginal chance.

These storms will spill into the overnight hours before a slight break in the morning and then they will find the energy to boost back up Monday.

We are expecting some moderate to heavy rainfall again with these storms.  Most places will see about a half inch of rain up to an inch and a half, but some communities could see locally heavier amounts upwards of 3 inches.

On top of that, there is a chance for severe storms both Sunday and Monday.  Generally the threat is sticking to our south but we still have marginal and slight chances for our viewing area.

After the rainy next few days, we will begin to dry up outside, and temperatures will jump up to the upper 80's and low 90's.
