UPDATE: There are new details emerging this afternoon about a northeast Nebraska murder case.

Rodolfo Castaneda Morejon, 48, of Norfolk is being held without bond in the Madison County Jail.

He’s charged with first-degree murder in a deadly stabbing that took place Friday evening.

It happened at the Liberty Apartment Complex in Norfolk.

Police today identified the victim as Yosvanis Velazquez Gomez, 39, of Norfolk.

Newly filed court papers allege Morejon confessed to the attack but showed no remorse.

Police say Morejon suspected Gomez was having an affair with his girlfriend.

PREVIOUS STORY: Norfolk Police identified the victim of the stabbing in Norfolk, Nebraska. 

According to Norfolk Police Captain Don Miller, the victim from Friday’s stabbing has been identified as Yosvanis Velazquez Gomez, 39, of Norfolk. They said that an autopsy confirmed Velazquez Gomez died of stab wounds. Additionally, they said that the weapon used during the incident has been recovered.

A report of the investigation will be forwarded to Madison County Attorney Joe Smith when completed.

As previously reported, Norfolk Police have a suspect in custody. The suspect is Rodolfo Castaneda Morejon, 48, of Norfolk. He has been taken into custody and booked into the Norfolk City Jail for 1st Degree Murder.
