Two Sioux City men were arrested for allegedly handcuffing and holding a woman against her will.

Victor Chavarria, 20, of Sioux City, was charged with serious assault and false imprisonment. Shannon Lane, 20, of Sioux City, was charged with serious assault and false imprisonment.

Officers were called around 5:05 p.m. on Friday to a residence on the 2200 block of South Helen Street for a report of an assault. 

According to court documents, the incident took place Thursday when a woman said that she and Chavarria had broken up. 

Chavarria asked the victim to go back to their shared house to try and work things out, when he and Lane reportedly pulled her to the floor and handcuffed her. 

The victim was unable to leave while handcuffed, and they are said to have caused a visible injury to the victim.

The two then reportedly used an electric trimmer to shave the victim’s head.

She was able to get away Chavarria took her to where the both of them work. 

Chavarria and Lane are being held in the Woodbury County jail on a bond of $2,000 each.
