SIOUX CITY, Iowa (KCAU) – Big Brothers Big Sisters of Siouxland is kicking off their signature fundraising event of the year. It’s called Bowl for Kids’ Sake.
The two-day bowling event got underway Friday afternoon at Rush Werks as all the lanes filled up with teams. Each team member was asked to raise $125 before competing.
It’s the 14th year in a row of the fundraiser. Each year the event has a new theme, and this year it was ‘Masquerade Bowl.”
“These teams not only come here and have a good time, and bowl, enjoy some food and camaraderie but also the raise significant dollars,” said Kristie Arlt of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Siouxland.
Organizers say this event is expected to raise upwards of $50,000 to support Big Brothers Big Sisters of Siouxland. That money will help recruit, train and match adults with area kids.
