Man arrested after causing four-vehicle crash in Norfolk

A man was arrested in Norfolk, Nebraska after he allegedly stole from a business, fled, and caused a collision.

Daniel Luken, 26, was arrested for driving under the influence of drugs.

Tuesday around 2:00 p.m., Luken left a Norfolk business without paying and threatened the employee with a hammer, according to the Norfolk Police Department.

The employee gave a description of Luken and his vehicle and also said that he fled on North 13th Avenue going north. 

Around the same time, police were notified of a four-vehicle collision. Upon arriving, they identified Luken.

In their investigation, police said that Luken fled from the business going north. he then ran into a black pickup, causing it to rotate and flip on its side. While flipping, a red pickup was forced over the median where it then collided with a fourth vehicle. 

When police identified Luken, they said he was acting erratically and not tracking the conversation. He submitted to a urine test before being arrested.

The drivers of the vehicles were taken to Faith Regional Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
