Suspicious person in Le Mars had airsoft gun, police say

Police had increased presence at school at the time

LE MARS, Iowa - The Le Mars police have given more information regarding a suspicious person that was reported last week. 

The Le Mars police were called shortly after 6:00 p.m. on February 12 for a suspicious person on the 800 block of 2nd Avenue SW.

It was also reported the suspicious person was also carrying a gun.

Since the reported location was a few blocks from the middle and high school and an event was there, police increased their presence there.

Le Mars police investigated the incident and determined that a resident in the area was actually carrying an airsoft gun.

The police say that there was no intent to harm anyone and that no laws were violated.
