Classes for Lawton-Bronson students grades 7 through 12 are now canceled until Monday after a computer classroom went up in flames yesterday.

Superintendent Randy Collins tells KCAU 9 News while only a computer classroom suffered fire damage, smoke damage occurred throughout the high school building.

Insurance investigators are on scene tonight determining a dollar amount of that damage. So far, a cause has not been determined. Superintendent Collins says the building fire detection system worked perfectly, and helped prevent the fire from spreading. That fire call came in around 5 o’clock yesterday afternoon after teachers and students were out of the school.
