Kid injured in hit-and-run receives help from the community

SIOUX CITY, Iowa (KCAU) – The victim of a hit-and-run got some help Tuesday from Siouxlanders.

Jeremiah Decker, 6,  was struck by a car in Sioux City a couple of weeks ago.

None of his injuries were life-threatening, but he lost several teeth and is still pretty bruised.

Jeremiah’s story inspired others to offer to help out with a charity night at Pizza Ranch to help with the family’s medical costs.

“And he’s already been made fun of because he has teeth missing. He has teeth that are damaged and his face is a little beat up. No kid should have to have those struggles.” said the event coordinator Stephanie Mugge

Friends of the Decker family were also helping bus tables and show their support for Jeremiah.
