Another weather system is bringing rain showers to Siouxland tonight. We expect very limited thunderstorm activity and rainfall amounts will generally be under .25″, but a few areas will range from .25-.50″ with any rumbles of thunder. This area of lows pressure will linger into Mother’s Day, so we can’t rule out a few more pockets of rain here and there across Siouxland. Highs should reach back into the lower 60s.
Look for more signficant warmning to start on Monday as highs return to the 70s with lots of sunshine. Isolated rain is possible on Tuesday, but highs will likely be warmer in the upper 70s to near 80. We’ll keep temperatures in the upper 70s to lower 80s for the rest of the week. However, thunderstorm chances will come back by Friday and increase on Saturday. Given the level of instability and moisture anticipated, severe weather is a real possibility. However, timing details are still up for debate. It does appear we’ll evening swing the other way and turn cooler next week, so enjoy this nice burst of early summer weather in the forecast.
