KCAU Weather Update-Saturday PM, March 16th

Local News

We are ending the week on a quiet note, something very much needed in Siouxland.  We continue to track area river levels.  The Big Sioux coming into Sioux City is still rising, but should be cresting tomorrow.  The same is true for the Missouri River in Sioux City.  Now that releases from Gavins Point Dam are being lowered in the coming days, the flooding situation is expected to improve across the region.

Tonight’s forecast calls for partly cloudy skies with lows in the mid 20s and northwest winds around 5-15 mph.  We expect more sunshine tomorrow and pleasant temperatures in the upper 40s and northwest winds around 5-15 mph.

Looking ahead, we see a disturbance to our south on Tuesday.  Most of the rain should stay to our south and highs will be warmer on average this week.  In fact, 50 degree weather is expected for several days starting Tuesday.  We may have a couple of shower chances ahead by next Saturday, but no major rainfall is expected during the 7 day forecast period.
