We had another very mild day across Siouxland with temperatures well into the 70s and even 80s south of Sioux City once again. The pattern ahead tonight and tomorrow will reset the picture as showers and thunderstorms make an appearance. In fact, a couple of those storms tonight could be marginally severe, mainly west of the Sioux City area. We’ll be following the trends the next several hours, but most storms should remain below severe limits.
Temperatures will be much cooler on Monday as highs drop into the mid and upper 50s with the scattered rain. We expect the showers to end tomorrow night and skies on Tuesday should turn mostly sunny as readings rebound into the mid 60s.
Warmer weather will continue into midweek with highs in the 70s on Wednesday and Thursday. Friday could be cooler as rain chances increase. We currently have mid 60s, but if the chance of rain goes any higher, temperatures will likely be cooler.
We’ll be on the border between much cooler weather to our north this upcoming weekend and warmer weather to our south. It’s safe to say episodes of scattered showers and thunderstorms will be expected Saturday through next Tuesday. The trough coming will eventually cool our highs into the 50s early next week once again.
