Fatal Skid Loader Accident

A northwest Iowa high school student died in accident over the weekend.

East Sac County junior, Ethan Glenn Nissen, 17, was killed in an accident, involving an end loader on Saturday.

In a press release sent out Monday morning, the Sac County Sheriff’s Office, as well as four other response teams, responded to a call in the 2100 block of 340th, just northwest of Wall Lake, at 12:44 p.m. Saturday.

When responders arrived, they found Nissen inside the cab.

Nissen was pronounced dead at the scene.

He was working for ‘Quirk Farms’ at the time and was operating a 200 Caterpillar end-loader, scooping manure at the time of the accident.

Nissen played on East Sac’s football team.

His funeral will take place this upcoming Friday at East Sac High School, where classes are being canceled so that students can attend the service.
