A seat in the Iowa Supreme Court will be opening up in the coming months.
It comes after Justice Bruce Zager will be retiring in September.
A total of 22 people have applied to fill the seat, and each one had an interview Monday.
Only one of the candidate is from the Siouxland area; Patrick Tott is currently a district court judge for the third district in Sioux City.
Once all the interviews are complete, the state judicial nominating commission will debate and select a few front runners.
And within 30 days, Governor Reynolds will have to appoint a new justice.
