Iowa residents seem to be getting healthier.
The Iowa Healthiest State initiative announced today that the state is now considered the 14th healthiest in the nation, up from 16th a year ago.
That’s according to the new Gallup-Healthways Well-Being Index.
The index is based on people’s overall well-being, not only fitness, but financial security and quality of life.
The Well-Being Index is the official measurement tool of the Iowa Healthiest State Initiative and Blue Zones Project. Sioux City is a certified Blue Zones community.
