SIOUX CITY, Iowa (KCAU) – Members of the Iowa National Guard including some from Sioux City’s 185th Air Refueling Wing are in Puerto Rico.
The guardsmen are providing no-cost medical care to civilians during a two-week training exercise. The goal of the program is to provide realistic training while at the same time providing no-cost medical care for people in areas of the island territory that are medically underserved.
Dental and optometry care is being offered in six different locations. In all, nearly 500 airman, soldiers, sailors and marines from Iowa, Minnesota, Alabama, and Delaware are part of the mission.
