I29 construction continues downtown this evening after a short delay due to the ice storm Monday morning.
The on-ramp at Pierce Street is now closed until around 5PM Saturday, as they are demolishing one of 20 bridges expected to be worked on before the project is completed.
The Iowa D.O.T. tells us more work needs to be done.
“Around the third week of March, the contractor will get into the next phase of construction. A two year construction project, and that would be essentially southbound I29, from near Wesley Parkway down to the Floyd River,” said Dakin Schultz, Iowa D.O.T. transportation planner.
The construction is expected to continue through the end of 2019.
