After back-to-back special elections over the past two months to fill open seats in the Iowa Legislature focus now turns to the general election in November.
Republican Bob Henderson formally announced his candidacy Thursday afternoon for the Iowa House of Representatives District 14 seat.
That district consists of Sioux City’s West Side and a portion of the north side.
This is Henderson’s second bid for the seat; he lost to incumbent Democratic State Rep. Tim Kacena back in 2016.
“I believe that everybody has a responsibility to do what they can to reinforce the values and the principles of our country. I have been blessed with the time and with the energy, with the health to be able to do that,” said Henderson.
Henderson announced his candidacy at the Siouxland Center for Active Generations.
