Your generosity is helping a lot of local parents and babies. We had a great day Stuffing the Stroller Tuesday at the Gordon Drive HyVee.

Now through Mother’s Day, KCAU 9 is collecting donations of baby items for the Crittenton Center. We have the help of Siouxland OBGYN. Dr. Hannah Dewald shopped with us this week.

Dr. Dewald says, “I looked for stuff that I feel like I’ve been using a ton of, because I have a one year old and a three-year-old, so all this stuff is stuff I’ve used very recently. And, I picked out stuff I like, that’s been useful, and of course, diapers, because everyone can use diapers!”

Dr. Dewald also cleaned HyVee out of baby thermometers, because she says that’s something her patients always need.

Where do your donations go? They all are given to the Crittenton Center, which has several different programs that help local families.

Two of those are the West High Infant daycare center and the Stella Sanford Daycare. Both serve working families – from all income levels – and help kids get the best start so they can be ready for school.

Erika McWell, Stella Director, says, “To know that a family feels good with their prized possession – leaving their child with us, that’s pretty important; that’s pretty important work that we do.”

We have two more live donation days for Stuff the Stroller. You can join us next Tuesday at the Sergeant Road HyVee, but our boxes are out all the time, so you don’t have to wait to donate.
