Fatal rollover costs Monona Co. man’s life; cause of crash still unknown

A rollover crash that took a mans life in Monona county is currently under investigation.

The crash happened Monday night around 7:45 p.m. at the intersection of 260th street and highway 183, near Soldier. 

First responders found Clint Bothwell, 42, of Moorhead, Iowa. Bothwell’s 1996 Chevy pickup truck appeared to have rolled several times and had sustained severe damage from the rollover. 

Bothwell was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash and was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Monona County Sheriff’s Office was assisted at the scene by Soldier Fire and EMS, Moorhead Fire and Rescue, and Burgess Health Center Ambulance.

Authorities are still looking for the cause of the accident and are currently investigating.
