A local internet company is soon going to be offering a faster form of internet to customers on the north side of town.
The company Long Lines is crafting and installing what they call “Flight Gigabit,” which is a faster form of fiber-optic based internet.
The north side of Sioux City is the company’s first step, but their goal is to expand to the rest of the city and beyond into heavily populated areas.
“Our goal is always looking at places we can expand, whether that’s small communities or other pockets of the metro area,” said Long Lines President Brent Olson.
The company says the north side project should be done in about five weeks, and their process of reaching people with less access to reliable internet should begin within the coming months.
