Farmers Market winding down for the year

Local News

As the weather cools off, the Sioux City Farmers Market is winding down. It will only be open for one more Saturday before it shuts down for the season.

Some farmers are using this time to sell the last of their harvest, which at this time of the year includes pumpkins, squash, potatoes, and apples.

Many farmers are sad the market season is ending, but they’re happy for the break.

“It’s kind of bittersweet. It’ll give us a chance to catch up on some things on home and relax a little bit. No more of this waking up at four thirty in the morning twice a week type stuff,” said one farmer Kenny Tietsort.

If you’re looking to grab some last minute produce before the Farmers Market closes until May, it will be open on Saturday from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. across from the Tyson Events Center on Pearl Street.
