Empower Rural Iowa Initiative provides grants for rural broadband

SIOUX CITY, Iowa (KCAU) – Rural communities may soon see better internet service thanks to more than $1 million in grants.

The grants will help give rural Iowans access to high-speed internet, in some please where broadband access is not available at all.

The grants are part of Iowa Governor Kim Reynold’s Empower Rural Iowa Initiative. The Siouxland communities of Ireton, Boyden and Hull were awarded almost $750,000 in grants.
