A downtown intersection will be closed next week so that utilities can be installed in the area.
The Engineering Division of Sioux City say that the northbound lane of Jackson Street between 3rd and 5th Streets intersection at 4th Street and Jackson Street will be closing next week.
They say that southbound traffic will still be allowed on Jackson Street and 4th Street.
The closure will start Monday and is expected to be completed in the afternoon of May 11.
The excavations is expected to be covered with steel plates, opening the intersection overnight.
A contractor will be installing utilities in the right-of-way.
The city will post a detour that uses 3rd Street, Nebraska Street, 5th Street, and Jones Street.
Drivers are asked to be caustious, slow down and follow traffic signs.
