Danbury man arrested for harboring runaway he met through Facebook

DANBURY, Iowa (KCAU) – Authorities arrested an 18-year-old from Danbury, Iowa for allegedly harboring a runaway

Court documents say that Ethyn Tope, 18, of Danbury, paid someone to go to Omaha to pick up a female minor and bring them back to Danbury on April 30. 

The minor allegedly told deputies that she was going to live with Tope and start a new life. 

Authorities later responded to a disturbance at the Danbury apartment and learned that the minor was missing out of Nebraska and verified by the National Crime Information Center. 

The minor and Tope reported said the met through Facebook.  

Tope was arrested and charged with harboring a runaway, an aggravated misdemeanor. He was booked into the Woodbury County Jail on a $1,500 bond.
