SIOUX CITY, Iowa (KCAU) – UPDATE May 10, 3:20 p.m.: According to MidAmerican Energy, the repairs to a gas leak in the Morningside area have been completed.
A MidAmerican spokesperson told KCAU 9 that crews finished the repairs at around 2:30 p.m. on Monday.
PREVIOUS May 10, 10:08 a.m.: The gas leak in the area of Correctionville Road and South Wescott Street in Sioux City has been stopped.
A MidAmerican spokesperson told KCAU 9 News that their crews were alerted to a gas leak at 9:31 a.m. Monday and they were onscene by 9:50.
The valves have been shut off, but they expect crews to be making repairs through 3 p.m.
Only one customer was affected.
Assistant Fire Chief Dan Fogel told KCAU 9 News that a construction crew hit a two-inch gas line that’s fed two ways.
