Crash into deer near Norfolk sends one to hospital

NORFOLK, Neb. (KCAU) – A crash in northeast Nebraska sent one person to the hospital after a deer crossed the highway.

The crash happened on Highway 275, about six miles east of Norfolk Tuesday night around 10:30 p.m., according to the Stanton County Sheriff’s Office. They said that Jordyn Bowers, 21, of rural Stanton, was driving west on the highway when the vehicle hit a deer that was crossing. 

Bowers was taken to a hospital in Norfolk. He was reported to have worn a seatbelt and the airbags did deploy.

The vehicle is considered a total loss.
