The city of Sioux City has announced a water main replacement project that will begin next week.

According to the city engineering division, they will be replacing a water main off of Pierce Street stretching from Fifth Street to Seventh Street starting Tuesday. Traffic will be maintained on Pierce Street and Sixth Streets with lane closures. The city is advising motorists to slow down, drive carefully and adhere to the traffic signs. They anticipate construction to be finished by this fall.
