YANKTON, S.D. (KCAU) - A Siouxland community is still on edge as police investigate the death of a Yankton woman.
The body of Phyllis Hunhoff, 59, of Yankton was found in rural Knox County, Nebraska earlier this week.
Hunhoff was last seen at her mother's home in Utica, South Dakota on Sunday.
Authorities aren't saying much about her death, but they said foul play is suspected. And now, the community is speaking out saying their worst fears have come true.
"There is a bit of closure knowing that one part of the puzzle is put together, but now a bigger puzzle has opened up," Rev. Urban said
"We have such a small community. We trust each other and then something like this happens and we're all like, 'Man do we walk to our cars by ourselves?' It's scary," said Yankton store owner Rita Houska.
The Knox County Sheriff's Office, Yankton County Sheriff's Office, Nebraska State Patrol, FBI, and Santee Tribal Police are investigating the incident.
