SIOUX CITY, Iowa (KCAU) – A set of new cell towers could soon be built in Sioux City.

City council approving the locations for the towers during Monday’s weekly meeting.  The two towers are planned for West First Street and Frelon Drive.  This isn’t the first time the council has weighed in on the towers.

A third tower proposed for Green Street passed first hearing but with criticism lodged at it, it will appear for second and third hearings.

Several proposed locations drew backlash from residents.  Folks telling council members they were concerned about the impacts the towers could have on property values and neighborhood activities.

Taxpayers once again get the chance to weigh in on the proposed locations at a future public hearing.
