Rain moved in this afternoon and it is here to stay for much of the day off and on. The rain will eventually move out later tonight, well after the sun sets.
After a hot day Wednesday reaching the 90’s, we cooled down to the mid 30’s overnight, knocking off an astounding 55 degrees within the span of around 12 hours in Sioux City.
The cooler temperatures will stick around for much of the next week and we have a few rain chances along the way.
The rain we are seeing right now and tonight will likely bring rain totals of around a few tenths of an inch with some areas getting a half an inch or potentially a touch more.
What we are expecting later on in the weekend and into early next week will be much more.
Sunday we have a small rain chance, but overnight and into Monday and Tuesday, we are expecting potentially heavy rains. it looks like most of Siouxland will see around 1-2 inches, but our southeastern viewing area could see even up to 4 inches with some areas seeing a bit more.
We will keep tracking the rain as it gears up to move through, and we will post all of the latest right here on Siouxlandproud.com/weather, or you can get the latest updates at 5, 6 and 10pm tonight.
