A fast moving burst of energy in the upper level atmosphere will kick off some light snow showers across parts of Siouxland tonight and tomorrow.
Expect the snow showers to begin after 2 AM. We may see them continue into the daytime Thursday.
Accumulation of a dusting to a half-inch will be possible over northwestern Iowa and southeastern South Dakota.
It appears that eastern Nebraska will miss this round of scattered light snow showers, as will most Iowa locations south of Sioux City.
Otherwise, clouds will be increasing overnight with a low of 24.
Other than the snow showers, Thursday will be partly cloudy and breezy, with a high of 39.
A warmup to the 40s will be enjoyed Friday, and temperatures will continue climbing to the 50s Saturday and 60s Sunday and Monday.
A cold front will bring a chance of rain next Monday. Behind this front, we’ll cool to more seasonable temperatures in the 40s Tuesday.
Winds will be quite strong over most of the next week, with Tuesday in particular looking very windy.
