Storm Lake police arrested a Buena Vista University student Tuesday for stealing an Xbox in November. 

He was previously arrested Monday for writing racial slurs on students doors.

Storm Lake Public Safety issued the below release detailing the incident:

On the afternoon of Wednesday, November 1st at approximately 2:30 PM, Storm Lake Police Officers were called to Buena Vista University White Hall on a report of a burglary to a dorm room that had occurred on October 29, 2017. Taken during the burglary was an Xbox video game console and controller valued at approximately $300.00.

On the morning of Tuesday, December 12th at approximately 8:00 AM, Storm Lake Police Department investigators were contacted by Buena Vista University Security and told that on Monday, December 11, 2017, the stolen Xbox had been recovered by the victim in another dorm room at Buena Vista University.

Investigators met with the victim at BVU and learned that the stolen property had been recovered from the dorm room occupied by Ryan Bills, 19, of Las Vegas, Nevada.

Officers interviewed Bills on December 12th at Buena Vista University and arrested him at approximately 12:00 PM. Bills was charged with Burglary 3rd degree class D Felony. Bills was booked into the Buena Vista County Jail where he was held on $5000 bond. All parties are considered innocent until proven guilty by a court of law.

The Storm Lake Police Department was assisted by Buena Vista University Campus Security.
