Briar Cliff University empowers female athletes to become strong leaders

Whether they compete on a field, court, pool, or matt- high school female athletes from all over the area were welcomed under one roof today for a very special event.

Briar cliff university hosted its first ever Women in Leadership and Sport Day. 

Where female athletes from all across the area were invited to develop their personal leadership skills.

The event kicked off with speeches from recognizable female sports leaders, followed by breakout sessions led by former Briar cliff athletic standouts and coaches.

Briar Cliff’s Athletic administrator, Marian Pesky tells us it’s never too early to begin prepping young woman for their futures.

“We need young women to understand the importance of leadership at younger ages and so we wanted to be able to help them while they’re still in high school become leaders in their programs and in there teams and then be able to carry that into their adult life,” says Pesky.
