Authorities in Vermillion say they believe a body pulled out of the Vermillion River on Sunday afternoon belongs to a man missing from the city since mid September.

The Vermillion Police department was notified around 3 o’clock Sunday afternoon that boaters had discovered the body just south of the city.

Chief Matthew Betzen says that his department is “pretty sure” that the body belongs to 31-year-old Evan Stajduhar, who went missing from his Vermillion home back on September 16th.

At this time authorities do not suspect foul play. Betzen says that they believe the body has been in the river since around the time of Stajduhar’s disappearance.

The incident is still being investigated and an autopsy has been scheduled.
