Blowing Snow Creates Travel Troubles

Local News

A WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY is out for much of the region today. While snow accumulations won’t be very impressive at about 1 inch, wind gusts exceeding 40 MPH will create for hazardous travel conditions. Low visibility and slick road surfaces will be an issue, so please slow down and exert some extra caution behind the wheel.

Another big noticeable difference after our streak of 40°+ high temperatures will be the MUCH colder air as the afternoon high will only make it to about 17° in Sioux City.

Overnight, we’ll have partly cloudy skies and a frigid low of -4°.

Tomorrow will be a mostly cloudy day with a high of 11°. During the afternoon we’ll have a chance at another inch of accumulation with passing snow showers.

We’ll be staying cold into the weekend and next week! Overnight lows will be at or below zero with daytime highs around 10°. Sunday is the only day where we expect temperatures to be a little warmer in the 20s, however there’s also a chance of snow arriving Sunday.

Stay warm and be safe on the roads!
