SIOUX CITY, Iowa (KCAU) – People in Sioux City are being asked to peddle to work Friday, May 17.
Bike to Work Day is part of a national effort, endorsed by the U.S. Department of Transportation and promoted by the League of American Bicyclists. It highlights the benefits of bicycling and to prove to people that it is feasible to leave the car at home for some commutes.
There are a few special events going on May 17, as well. There will be a complimentary commuter breakfast at Albrecht Cycle Show from 7:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m.
Michelle Bostinelos, executive director at SIMPCO, stopped by our KCAU 9 studio to tell us more about the event.
