SIOUX CITY, IA (ABC9 NEWS)- A benefit has been planned for the family of a Sioux City woman who was killed last month at a rural Clay County recreation area.

The benefit for Alicia Hummel has been planned for August 30th from 4:00-7:00 P.M., and will include a silent auction. At this time the family is seeking donations from individuals and businesses of  food, drinks, and silent auction items. A memorial fund has been established at Sioux Valley Credit Union in Sioux City under Alicia Hummel.

Hummel’s body was found on the afternoon of June 1st near the boat dock at Myron Grove, also known as the Highline Area of Clay County. Authorities are still seeking the public’s help with any information related to the crime, and would still like to speak with anyone who may have been in the area around the time of her death.

Anyone with information is being asked to call the Clay County Sheriff’s Office at 605-677-7100.

If you would like to donate, volunteer, or have any questions about the benefit, you can contact the organizers at
