BACK TO SCHOOL: Career Academy

All this week, KCAU will give important information to help families ease into the school routine.

If you have a high school student, you can prepare them for life after high school. 

Katie Towler and Jeff Lucas from the Sioux City Community School District’s Career Academy joined Jenna in the KCAU 9 studio to explain what the Career Academy offers.

They are also hosting an open house on September 6 from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. at the the Career Academy building at 627 4th Street in Sioux City.


If you have a child is special education, you might have extra questions about how things will work.

Nicole Bacan from the Northwest Area Education Agency is here to talk about it.


One problem that may be challenging is technology.

South Sioux City High School Principal Ashley O’Dell spoke about what the expectations are in a classroom.


Michelle Hoch, a counselor at East High School was in the KCAU studio to answer questions on how to help kids that now have to readjust of getting back into school after a summer vacation.


On Monday, Jenni Galles, Kris Kurtz and Sarah Blaeser, kindergarten teachers from Dakota Valley spoke about sending kids to school for the first time.
