Awareness for colorectal cancer is appropriate any time

March is Colorectal Cancer Awareness Month. While it is still a few weeks away, awareness at any time is appropriate. 

Colorectal cancer is the second most common cancer-related deaths said Dr. Gokul Subhas from UnityPoint Health St. Luke’s.

Colorectal Cancer Alliance’s 2019 awareness campaign is “Don’t Assume.” The alliance wants to challenge assumptions and misconceptions about colorectal cancer by dispelling myths, raising awareness, and connecting people across the country with information and support.

People are more likely to get screened or pay attention to their symptoms when they stop assuming.
